Here we are day number 6!!!!!
Whom are you looking for? This is a question that is answered in many different ways of Jesus in the scripture and still is. Is he a teacher, a political revolutionary, a prophet, etc. How we answer the question makes a remarkable difference to our journey. For Judas he was a failed leader. For Mary he was Lord. Lord assumes all of the titles with an important difference. If he is a teacher, we can pick and choose what to listen to out of his mouth, but dependence is not there. Lord assumes utter dependence and leads to new life. So, who is Jesus for you today as we end our first week.
Not only Lord, but Lord in a different way. A second question to ponder for today is “What ways does this different type of Lordship make a difference in how I live my life?”
Lent Day 5!
This devotion goes right to the heart of our study. Do you want to be healed? Sometimes it is easier not to be healed then asking the hard questions. The hard questions are what end up transforming us. There can be no significant growth without these hard questions.
The following video is called “Roll Away Your Stone” by Mumford and Sons. As we ask these hard questions, it is important to have someone to walk with as we “roll away the stone”. It is once the stones that are rolled away by the questions that we ask and others ask of us that we can experience true resurrection. It is important to have companions in the faith along the way and always keeping in mind we have the greatest of all companions in Jesus Christ who is always with us. So, who are those people in your life that you can walk alongside of as the stones that block out true life are rolled away?
