Eric Burtness writes, “Believing is seeing.” How true that is. We see what we believe. Faith is the lens by which we view our life. So the question of “Where is your faith?” that we started the week with is very appropriate. If our faith is in what we have constructed then we have reason to worry. If our faith is in the one who is always faithful to us, our outlook will be much different. How do we know God has been faithful? Continue to count the things in your life you are thankful for. Give thanks to God for those things. In practicing this, you begin to see God’s ample care for you! That gives us the lens we need. Let the question of “What does our view look like?” guide our devotional life. Then let that question move to, “How is that working for you?”. It is amazing the view we have once we start seeing God’s amazing grace in our life!

Wow!!!! We are already at Day 8 of our Lenten journey!!!!!!
Thanksgiving is central to who we are. We are designed to give thanks to God. When we do so, it is amazing the things that we start seeing. We begin to see how very faithful God is. So, it bolsters the question from yesterday–“Where is your faith?” May it be in the one who we have much to be thankful for!
One of the purposes of doing devotions is forming a closer connection with God. In doing learning more and more about God, we start to see the many ways he is present in our lives and we develop a deeper appreciation. Much like any relationship that is solid, the more you learn the more you appreciate–especially when that person is so faithful and incredible! So, instead of a song, I invite you to explore this site to see some new and exciting ways you can deepen your devotional life!
Welcome to day #7 or the beginning of the second week–however you are counting!
One of, if not the greatest, things about Christ is that he is constantly faithful to us. Even when we take our eyes off of him, he will never take his eyes off of us! That is good news! But, life can constantly obscure our view of him. We are weighed down with a lot of stuff we think is on us. But, it isn’t. We are sent out following the example of Christ. Never taking our eyes off and when we do we pray for his gracious hand to lead us back. Good questions do that. A will place question will be a good reminder–“Where is your faith?”
Great song to keep us focused on the question “Where is your faith?”
For all this around Cross of Calvary, service tonight at 7 pm. Don’t forget the soup supper either–serving from 5:30-6:30!!!!
